Zero Hour

Zero Hour is a play that will touch everyone in our nation and the world.  We are in denial about our own aging. Anti-aging has become a multi-billion dollar industry, from wonder products to greeting cards, perpetuating society's negative attitude towards aging. Zero Hour will engage audiences to think about aging.

Education is the key to changing attitudes and influencing perceptions. Zero Hour's unique educational piece which has a panel of experts on aging presenting and answering questions of the audience after each performance, giving people the chance to learn about senior and caregiver services to share with their communities. The premier gala of Zero Hour will benefit Holiday Meals on Wheels, a program that provides nutritious meals on holidays and Saturdays to at-risk elders. Through the collaboration, Zero Hour will not only educate audiences via drama, but also expose them to another program that supports seniors. Why Holiday Meals on Wheels? The publicly funded meals program is limited to one hot meal per day, Monday thru Friday. Many elders must choose between food, medicine, and other necessities.

We need your help to Fund Zero Hour the educational play to help many families in the area of caregiving and how to deal with the emotional issues we each will face in this nation.  teenagers, parents, and anyone who loves their grandma and grandpa will be touched by this play started by Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging( NEIL) to meet the following goals:

Goals

• Cultivate 1,200 people into ambassadors on aging through performances
• Produce 4 performances targeted to students, baby boomers, and seniors
• REFRESH the younger generation to RALLY around aging
• Educate people how to help themselves and loved ones before a crisis
• Raise money to provide holiday meals to 500 additional at-risk seniors

We need you to vote up to 10 times per day for Zero Hour in the Pepsi refresh Everything project.  Pepsi has decided to fund many worthwhile projects instead of advertising in the Super Bowl.  Zero Hour will reach many families and help educate them about what we all are about to experience.  It is tough to be the caregiver of your parents.  It is a brutally emotional experience that we all could use NEIL's help and guidance to make it as easy as possible.  This play isa creative way to reach people who need help.  They are also raising oney to feed seniors on Holidays and Weekends.  Did you know the government program Meals on Wheels has no funding on Thanksgiving?  I find this a travesty!  When we are all sitting down to the big feast, with our loved ones there are many seniors who do not get to eat unless we help!  By voting for Zero Hour to get funded by the Pepsi Refresh Everything Project you will be helping many families, and it will not cost you any money to support this cause.  Bonus!
